Local Conditions
Why response time matters here
The Sacramento region produces a fairly specific pattern of restoration work. Winter brings atmospheric-river storms that arrive in concentrated bursts, overwhelming roof drainage and gutters that handled the rest of the year without difficulty. Most of our overnight emergency calls fall between November and March.
Plumbing is the other constant. A great deal of the area’s housing stock sits on slab foundations, and supply lines running through or under a slab tend to fail without any visible warning — the first sign is often a warm patch of floor or an unexplained jump in the water bill.
Then summer works against you in a different way. Long stretches of dry heat make surfaces feel dry within hours, which masks moisture still trapped in a wall cavity, and that same heat accelerates microbial growth once material has stayed wet. It is a combination that turns a small unnoticed leak into a remediation project.
Toward Auburn and Loomis there is a fourth factor: wildfire smoke. Smoke that enters a property during a fire event leaves the same acidic residue and embedded odor as a structure fire, and it is treated with the same methods.
