What water extraction work actually involves

Extraction is the most time-sensitive part of any water loss. Removing water mechanically is dramatically faster and more effective than trying to evaporate it later, and the volume you get out in the first hours determines how much of the structure can be saved.

It is also the point where the wrong action makes things worse. A household wet-vac is not built for volume and is not safe near submerged outlets. Walking across saturated carpet drives water deeper into the pad and subfloor. Waiting until morning gives the water time to wick up drywall and reach insulation.

Our extraction crews carry truck-mounted and portable units sized for the situation, and they do not leave the site after pumping. Moisture mapping and drying equipment placement happen in the same visit, so the dry-down starts immediately rather than the next day.

Any one of these is worth a phone call. Several together usually means the problem is larger than it appears.

Any pooled water on a floor should be extracted before it saturates what is underneath.
Saturated carpet or padding
