Overview

What structural drying work actually involves

Structural drying is the part of a water loss that determines whether materials are saved or replaced. Once bulk water is extracted, what remains is moisture bound inside drywall, framing, subfloor and insulation. Removing it takes controlled airflow, controlled humidity, and enough time — applied deliberately rather than by putting a few fans in a room.

The engineering matters. Air movers create evaporation at material surfaces; dehumidifiers pull that evaporated moisture out of the air. Get the ratio wrong and you raise humidity without removing water, which can push moisture into materials that were previously dry. Equipment counts and placement are calculated from the affected area, the class of water loss, and the materials involved.

We monitor daily. Readings are taken at the same points each visit and recorded, so the drying curve is visible and the decision to pull equipment is based on documented numbers rather than an estimate.
